Chiesa di San Francesco all’Annunziata

Via Giovan Battista Nicolosi, which cuts orthogonally through the complex urban network of the town, finishes in largo Assisi (an area of modern urban expansion) where the modern chiesa di San Francesco all’Annunziata dei Cappuccini (1987) discreetly rises; inside the building – rich in precious polychrome marble and bronze scupltures – you can admire the Cantico delle Creature, a bright, colourful mosaic done by Ugolino da Belluno.
Via Emanuele Bellia leads to piazza Della Regione, where you can see the Fontana dell’Autonomia (the fountain of Autonomy, with mosaics that represent some important moments in the history of Paternò, recalling its civic values.
